What IT items can I rent from VFXnow?

We supply a wide range of IT products and brands aimed at the needs of the Media & Entertainment industry, including laptops, computers, workstations, GPU workstations, Apple products, network-attached-storage.

What is the minimum rental period?

For new clients the minimum rental period is two weeks. For on-going clients, the minimum rental period for any of our equipment is ONE day.

What is the average age of your rental items?

Our rental equipment is typically 3 years old or less. The stock we have over 3 years old becomes part of our ex-rental stock that we sell on from time to time.

What if I am not sure about my exact requirements or if I have specific technical requirements?

Once you explain us your business needs and the set up where you will use your equipment, our team of experts is always happy to offer advice on how our products and their applications, will suit best your business needs. We are brand unbiased, we give you honest advice.

Do you require a deposit on short term rentals?

For short-term rentals (less than 3 consecutive months), payment might be required upfront, this will becredited back to you on return of the equipment. Exceptions apply to on-going clients who already have an account with us.

Do you require a deposit on long term rentals?

If you are a new client, a deposit is required. The amount of the deposit is calculated depending on the rental items and the duration of the rental. If you are an existing VFXnow client (have rented an item from us within the last 12 months), no deposit is required.

Do you require ID when renting an item?

For all new customers, we require two forms of valid ID. If delivery address is different from the ID address, you will need to provide official proof of the validity for the delivery address and name.

Will you do a credit check on rentals?

We do perform credit checks on all new clients.

What information will be in the quote?

  • Contact information: general information – contact name, company name, address, email, phone number.
  • Pricing – Daily or monthly rate.
  • Length of rental: Initial number of days or months. You can extend your rental period, as you wish.
  • Shipping – Delivery and Collection cost – Normally be quoted as a total cost lovering delivery and collection.
  • Terms and Conditions – These are a brief outline of our terms and conditions, full details can be found on our web site.

When and where do you deliver?

We use both external couriers and our Vans to deliver and collect our rental equipment. They operate between 8am and 6pm Monday – Friday. Most of our clients are in the Los Angeles and New York City metro areas, however we do deliver orders elsewhere in the country, adding a shipping cost.

Is the equipment ready for immediate use?

Yes. All of our laptops, desktops, Apple products, servers, workstations and any additional equipment are ready for immediate use.

What if I need additional software?

We are able to install most software licences on to the rental equipment for your use at an additional cost. Alternatively, you are able to download the software you require on to our equipment, granted that you delete it upon return.

What if I need cables that can be compatible with the equipment I own?

Let us know when you inquire for a quote what additional items you might need to be compatible with your network. Additional costs might apply.

Yes. All of our laptops, desktops, Apple products, servers, workstations and any additional equipment are ready for immediate use.

Do you set up the equipment we rent from VFXnow?

What happens with the equipment once it’s returned?

All data is wiped securely and the items are restored back to their original state factory settings.

Which brands do you stock?

We stock the most well-known brands.

If you require a specific brand, we are brand unbiased, we will recommend you the best equipment that suits your project and budget.
